Rick Johnson
Richard A. Johnson, Chaplain, Colonel USAF (Retired) - Chaplain Johnson is a veteran with more than 30 years of active-duty military experience. He has served at every level of command, and has served combat tours in Saudi Arabia, Bosnia, and Iraq. He has also been stationed in Alaska, South Korea, and throughout the United States, and he has been awarded numerous commendations and medals.
Chaplain Johnson, or “Pastor Rick” as he is affectionately known, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Evansville, masters’ degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary and Pepperdine University, and a doctorate from Ashland Theological Seminary. He is currently a member of the Lions Club International, and a Life Member of the Military Chaplains Association, and the Military Officers Association of America.
Pastor Rick is an ordained Methodist pastor and prior to his military service, he served churches in southern Indiana, the Philadelphia area, central Kentucky, and western North Carolina.
Rick and his wife Janet have three sons, a daughter, and four grandchildren. In 2020, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Jan is also an ordained Methodist pastor. She holds masters’ degrees in teaching, social work, and theology, and is an award-winning author.
The Johnsons enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren and, whenever possible, the serenity of a peaceful and quiet campsite in the woods.
