Interim Pastor
Dr. Richard A. Johnson
Richard A. Johnson, Chaplain, Colonel USAF (Retired) - Chaplain Johnson is a veteran with more than 30 years of active-duty military experience. He has served at every level of command, and has served combat tours in Saudi Arabia, Bosnia, and Iraq. He has also been stationed in Alaska, South Korea, and throughout the United States, and he has been awarded numerous commendations and medals.
Chaplain Johnson, or “Pastor Rick” as he is affectionately known, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Evansville, masters’ degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary and Pepperdine University, and a doctorate from Ashland Theological Seminary. He is currently a member of the Lions Club International, and a Life Member of the Military Chaplains Association, and the Military Officers Association of America.
Pastor Rick is an ordained Methodist pastor and prior to his military service, he served churches in southern Indiana, the Philadelphia area, central Kentucky, and western North Carolina.
Rick and his wife Janet have three sons, a daughter, and four grandchildren. In 2020, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Jan is also an ordained Methodist pastor. She holds masters’ degrees in teaching, social work, and theology, and is an award-winning author.
The Johnsons enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren and, whenever possible, the serenity of a peaceful and quiet campsite in the woods.
Interim Worship Leader
Judi Willard
Having grown up being involved in church music, Judi became passionate about worship and using music to share a testimony or encourage others in worship. Judi joined BHBC in 2007, and in 2024, she made herself available to God's call to serve as our interim worship leader.
Judi received her A.A.S. in Business Administration from A-B Tech, and has served the Asheville and Western North Carolina area in the field of nonprofit development and event management for more than 40 years. She works full-time as Administrative Lead for the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce.
A lover of history, she is currently writing her family history, covering eight family lines from immigration to America to her parents' generation. Judi and her husband Bill both enjoy history-themed vacations and spending time with family. Judi has two married children, Jessie and Mitchell, and four grandchildren, Everest, Eden, Hazel, and Jackson.
Accompanist
Donna Gasperson
Donna is a native of Iowa City, Iowa, and spent her growing up years in New York, Oklahoma, and North Carolina. She is a graduate of Mars Hill College, and has been playing in churches since high school. She has served Beverly Hills Baptist Church as accompanist since 2017. Since the beginning of COVID early in 2020, Donna has shared a daily music meditation via social media for the enjoyment of BHBC members, friends, family, and anyone wanting to take a moment to be still before the Lord.
She and her husband, Bruce, are the parents of Paula, Ryan, and Melinda, and the grandparents of Collin, Miriam, Elizabeth, Samantha, Grace, Maliya, and Alexis. Donna considers it a high privilege to use her talent to bring glory to God.
Office Manager
Nancy Ingle
Nancy has served in the office of local churches since 1980. She came to Beverly Hills Baptist in January, 2003. Her son Daniel and his wife Lynn have two children, Bethaney Ann and Colton Daniel. Nancy has 3 great-granddaughters, Amelia Page, Willow Grace and Taytum Rae. Family and friends are dear to Nancy. She has served as a teacher for a Children's Sunday School Class, and sung in the choir for many years.
Nancy serves as Secretary to the Board of Directors for Ebenezer Gospel Mission to India. She was blessed to be able to visit India in 2005. Her interests are walking, scrapbooking, geneology and restoring old photographs. She enjoys serving the Lord and others wherever He leads.

Weekday Early Education
Becky Morrison
Becky began working with Beverly Hills' Weekday Early Education Program (WEE) in 1984, and has served as director since 1997. She earned the Childcare Administrative Credential from A-B Tech in 2003. Becky is married to Trent, has two children, Scott and Lacey, and five grandchildren, Michael, Trent, Kenzie, Lana and Mott. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
